The M72 LAW is a portable Light Anti-Armor Weapon that can penetrate up to 20cm/8 inches of steel plate. In 1963 the LAW was adopted by the United States Army and United States Marines as their primary individual infantry anti-tank weapon. It consists of a rocket packed inside of a launcher made up of two tubes, one inside the other. While closed (0.67m/24.8"), the outer assembly acts as a watertight for the rocket and mechanism that activates the rocket. Once armed (1m/35") the weapon is no longer watertight even if the launcher is collapsed into its original configuration.
